Stephen Parkin

Stephen is a doctoral candidate currently completing a dissertation entitled "The Idea of the Consolatory: The Rhetoric, Ethics, and Moral Psychology of Consolation Literature." Stephen has been trained as a classicist, philosopher, rhetorician, and literary critic, but he is also a committed teacher and pedagogue. Stephen has taught numerous literature and composition courses, for which he has won several awards. Stephen has also worked as a teaching consultant.

Research interests: History and theory of rhetoric, moral philosophy, and tragedy; the essay and autobiography.
