Gabriela holds a BA in Comparative Literature from Haverford College. Her undergraduate thesis compares the poetry of Luis Palés Santos and Derek Walcott. Her interest in twentieth-century Caribbean literature is enriched through comparisons between the Hispanophone and Francophone islands of the region. She is particularly interested in how politics of language and race relations manifest themselves through literature and performance.
